WHAT IS C.P.P.D?

The Health Professions Council define C.P.P.D. as:

“A range of learning activities through which health professionals maintain and develop throughout their career to ensure that they retain their capacity to practice safely, effectively and legally within their evolving scope of practice”.

C.P.P.D. is for your benefit.
  • C.P.P.D. keeps you in touch and up to date with current practice and the changing situation around you. Your experience grows over time and you find better ways of helping and treating the patients with the knowledge you have gained.
  • C.P.P.D. is a continuing education, you will learn more from patients as you work with them over a period. This can provide a better way to reflect on the practice in a structured way.
  • C.P.P.D. will enable you to expand your range of treatments as well as your expertise – by learning new skills and techniques you are then able to increase your part in the market place.
  • C.P.P.D. is a professional award of your commitment – anyone who wants to be taken seriously by the orthodox medical profession will see this as a mark of professionalism.

Others will see this as part of a commitment that is required by most other professions such as Doctors, nurses, lawyers, teachers, alternative practitioners etc.

We also have an 8-part programme to help you attain your yearly points. This programme is a series of one-day presentations, each certificated by K.I.H.A. On attaining 8 certificates, we will present them to an external verifier, for their final certification of C.P.P.D.
